On January 22, 2024, Vice President Kamala Harris made an appearance on CNN for an interview. She chatted with CNN’s Laura Coates, who gushed over her, on a wide range of topics, including Trump and abortion. The problem was that the interview had a pitiful viewership, especially among the younger demographic in the United States.
The interview, which was loaded with softball questions and hosted by a far-left extremist, failed miserably in attracting the 25-54 demographic that advertisers want, drawing in an average of less than half a million views overall.
The news comes from AdWeek, which states that the primetime show averaged just 72,000 viewers in the 25-54 demographic. This is much lower than the 110,000 average for the night on CNN and the 354,000 average for Fox News Channel. With an average of just 332,000 people, the overall audience was just as pitiful. This was in stark contrast to FNC’s average of 2.637 million viewers that night and CNN’s average of 559,000 total viewers for the evening.
“By inference, he [Trump] is proud that women have been deprived of fundamental freedoms to make decisions about their own body; by inference, proud that doctors are being penalised and criminalised for providing health care; proud that women are silently suffering because they don’t have access to the health care they need,” Kamala said during the interview, criticising Trump for his opinion on Roe v. Wade and appointing the Supreme Court that overturned it. Therefore, let us realise how serious this is.
While Trump does favour some exemptions to abortion prohibitions, he has stated that he is “proud” of his part in overturning Roe v. Wade. “Nobody has done more in that regard,” he added when asked about it. (However), I do happen to support exceptions, such as Ronald Reagan, when it comes to matters of motherhood, rape, and incest. I just must be present, in my opinion.
In any event, Kamala spared no mention of “our democracy” in her CNN interview, adding, “I think everyone is right to be vigilant in demanding that we maintain our democracy.” P.S. One of its cornerstones is a system of free and fair elections, which we continue to support. A characteristic of a democracy is civic involvement,” she remarked, emphasising the need of everyone remembering this. Which brings us to the point: let’s all cast our ballots. I won’t tell you who to vote for, but I implore you to find the time, even with all your responsibilities, to cast your ballot (or, if you prefer, to cast it by mail).
To further her point, VP Harris stated, “I think that most women who have risen in their profession, who are leaders in their profession have had similar experiences,” in which she implied that sexism was to blame for the criticism she received. I made history as the first female district attorney to ever be elected. I hold the distinction of becoming the first female vice president and the first female attorney general of California. My work is wonderful.
By stating, “I’m struck just being in your presence,” Coates predictably gushed over VP Harris instead of challenging her with difficult questions. I beheld you while you performed onstage. Engaging with you passionately while staring into your eyes. Look at that drooling over here:
