A buddy regularly checks in and gives honest criticism on your connections.
Despite the public’s warm reception to their reunion, Jennifer Lopez’s close friend Jane Fonda has expressed reservations. Meanwhile, the 86-year-old actress openly discusses Lopez’s relationship with Affleck.
After facing off in Monster-in-Law in 2005, strangers became buddies. After that, their connection grew. Lopez wants to include Fonda in her upcoming documentary This Is Me Now: A Love Story because of their closeness.
Fonda discusses two issues with the married couple throughout the film.
Fonda told Lopez, “I want you to know that I don’t entirely know why, but I feel invested in you and Ben, and I really want this to work.” Apparently Variety heard this. However, this worries me. You feel like you’re proving something rather than enjoying it. You often post photographs of yourselves making out or cuddling.
“That’s just us going about our lives,” Lopez said, disregarding the criticism.
Pictures of Affleck at the 2023 Grammy’s made Fonda “real scared” and she communicated her concern.
“Oh my God, what happening? I was worried by all the Grammy nonsense, and he looks sad.”
Lopez told Fonda her relationship was well, but Affleck was “like, ‘I’ve become the symbol of the beleaguered man.’”
Despite her criticism, Fonda said “everyone in the entire world is pulling for this relationship and this love,” adding that the couple’s presentation is “so important.”
“It shouldn’t be flaunted so much that it creates criticism or resentment.”
